Hello! (@chiropiyo0331) here.
This time I’m introducing the breakfast buffet I had when I stayed at Ito Hotel Juraku, a hotel on a hilltop in Ito Onsen, Shizuoka, with appealing facilities such as hot springs with seven private springs and guest rooms with a panoramic view of Sagami Bay.
Ito Hotel Juraku was reborn as an all-inclusive hotel in July 2024, and it’s a hotel expected to draw a lot of attention going forward!!
I stayed in March 2024, and unfortunately the live kitchen “AMAHANA” that came with the renovation was still under construction, but how was the actual breakfast buffet?
“I’m thinking of staying at Ito Hotel Juraku, but I’m curious what the breakfast buffet is like!”
This article is just right for you, so please give it a read.
Now, let’s get right into it.
For the hotel overview and guest room review, please see the article below.

I Went to the Breakfast Buffet at Ito Hotel Juraku! Overview

Breakfast at Ito Hotel Juraku is a buffet centered on Japanese and Western dishes, in the same venue as dinner.
(When I stayed, it was a special banquet hall.)
A row of four-person table seats with ample spacing stretches across a gorgeous carpet.
Breakfast is free seating, and if you grab a seat close to the buffet menu, it’s easy to get around and you can enjoy your meal efficiently!
Breakfast is from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.!
Breakfast hours are 7:00–9:00.
Check-out is at 10 a.m., so heading to the breakfast venue by 8:30 at the latest will keep you from rushing.
Recommended: the Loaded “Neba-Neba Bowl”

Top your bowl with favorites like mekabu (wakame root), seared tuna, and natto to make your own sticky neba-neba bowl and give it a try!
There are also many live kitchens at the breakfast buffet, such as dried horse mackerel landed in Ito, omelets, and the Italian dish “bruschetta.”

Breakfast Buffet Menu at Ito Hotel Juraku

Breakfast at Ito Hotel Juraku is amazing! It offers about 70 super-lavish Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes.
At other hotels’ breakfast buffets, 30 to 50 items is the most common, so this easily tops 50!
Live Kitchen Menu

The first live kitchen is dried horse mackerel!
As it grills, the savory aroma lures you in and you’re sure to say “One, please!”

Next up, the mini rice ball corner.
They make freshly formed rice balls on the spot after you order.

There are five kinds: salt, pickled plum, salmon, kelp, and mushroom miso, but I recommend the mushroom miso, which doubles your appetite first thing in the morning.

They’re mini-sized, so they’re easy to eat!
With these, you don’t even need plain rice.

The omelet corner, where they cook in a frying pan.
At upscale hotels there are sometimes toppings such as tomato, ham, and mushrooms, but unfortunately there weren’t any here.

A must for those who eat bread in the morning!
Bruschetta topped with tomato or egg.
It’s a carefully crafted specialty made in the traditional way with homemade yeast.
Salads

The salad ingredients are the same as at the dinner buffet.
Bean salad, lettuce, onion, and tomato.

There’s also corn, tuna, and loin ham.
A few more salad items, like broccoli and cucumber, would have been nice.

There are five dressings: sesame, onion, paysanne, Caesar, and mayonnaise.
The classic green shiso dressing wasn’t there.

There’s also a small-plate-sized potato salad!
Japanese, Western, and Chinese Menu

What many of the people around me were also picking up was the local-fish mago-chazuke.
Mago-chazuke is a fisherman’s meal that was eaten aboard fishing boats while at sea, and it’s a local dish eaten throughout the Izu Peninsula.
Mago-chazuke, eaten by pouring hot water over it, brings out the umami of the horse mackerel and is delicious!

Nikujaga, a dish loved by kids and adults alike.
It’s hearty with green beans too, but it might be a bit heavy for the morning.

Sweet-and-savory stir-fried vegetables. Lots of cabbage, so it’s lighter than it looks.

The Western-style classic: scrambled eggs with aonori seaweed.
They’re nice and creamy~!

French fries. Another classic.
Potatoes first thing in the morning aren’t my thing.

Bacon that’s moist rather than crispy. Maybe a bit on the fatty side.

In the morning, one sausage is plenty!

For a chilled body, there’s yudofu (hot tofu), kept constantly warm on an induction heater.

Ume (pickled plum) somen noodles in wanko-soba-sized portions. Enjoy them with the condiments.

The grown-ups’ rice-topper series: mentaiko, wasabi-zuke, and salted squid guts.

Lots of healthy dishes too!
Grated daikon with nameko mushrooms, blanched komatsuna, and crab-style water salad.

Plenty of refreshing pickles too.

It’s rare to see red-and-white kamaboko served at a buffet.
A small-plate-sized potato salad.
Bread

A bread corner with more variety than at the dinner buffet.
Croissants, dinner rolls, and more.

Colorful sliced bread. Small bite-sized mini portions that are easy to eat.
Dessert

The fruit is pre-cut into easy-to-eat sizes.
It’s kept in a refrigerated case, so it’s cold and delicious!
It would have been even better if the edible pieces were a bit larger.

Half-cut kiwi fruit.

Bananas. They were a little past their freshest.

Pineapple. It’s cut into easy-to-eat sizes, so it’s easy to grab and eat! Recommended.

The buffet-dessert classics: fruit cocktail and yogurt.
Blueberry sauce and strawberry sauce are available as you like.
No cakes were offered.
Drinks

For drinks, you can choose from oolong tea, orange juice, melon soda, white soda, ginger ale, Pepsi cola, and sparkling water.
It’s the same as the dispenser menu at the dinner buffet.

Next to it, you can choose blend coffee, American coffee, café latte, plain black tea, or milk tea, hot or iced.
For hot coffee, the staff go around to each table and pour it for you! The service is great.
Plate Examples

I made sure to grab the dried horse mackerel from the live kitchen and the neba-neba bowl!

It’s rare to find a breakfast buffet with bruschetta, so I chose two: egg and tuna.
