Hello! I’m Joe (@chiropiyo0331).
This time I’m introducing hotels around Izumo that have triple rooms where each guest is guaranteed their own bed.
Izumo is home to Izumo Taisha, where people make all kinds of wishes for love, marriage, and family happiness, and it’s known for attracting many visitors every year.
Beyond its matchmaking spots, you can also enjoy Izumo’s rich culture and traditions, including Izumo-mai dance and Izumo soba, as well as its local cuisine.
If you’re thinking of staying with three people around Izumo, have you had experiences like these?
“I booked a triple room, but it was really just a twin room with an extra bed added, and we ended up fighting over the beds.”
“One of the beds was smaller than the others, and whoever made the reservation had to sleep in it, reluctantly.”
Fights over beds, or being asked to watch the luggage or drive in exchange for taking the bigger bed: trivial things like that easily turn into trouble.
In this article, I’ll introduce hotels around Izumo with triple rooms that provide one bed per person.

List of Hotels With Triple Rooms Around Izumo

There are about 80 ryokan and hotels in Izumo, centered on the area around Izumo Taisha and the city center.
If you search booking sites for one room for three guests, you get twin rooms with an extra bed or sofa bed added, or triple rooms where just one bed is smaller so the beds aren’t equal. Overall, the current situation is that they’re awkward to use.
Against this background, I checked hotels around Izumo one by one to see whether they have a triple room that guarantees one bed per person, and summarized the results here. Please use it as a reference when choosing where to stay.
*Twin rooms, Japanese-style rooms, and Japanese-Western rooms that assume use of extra beds or sofa beds have been excluded in advance.
They’re listed in order of the lowest per-person price.
| Hotel name | To Izumo Taisha | Price (per person, per night) | Meals | Room type | Size |
| Villa Izumoya | 15 min by car | From 4,500 yen | None | Renovated Western-style room | – |
| Izumo Royal Hotel | 14 min by car About 25 min by bus | From 6,700 yen | Breakfast & dinner included | Triple Room | 27 ㎡ |
| Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi | 8 min on foot | From 26,400 yen | Breakfast & dinner included | Deluxe Triple | 48 ㎡ |
| Yunokawa Onsen Yuyado Souan | 30 min by car | From 27,455 yen | Breakfast & dinner included | Western-style room overlooking the woods | 50 ㎡ |
*Prices are the lowest rates at the time of my research.
If you want to stay at a hotel around Izumo with a triple room that guarantees one bed per person, you’ll need to choose from the four above.
Only four. It’s a sad reality, but fewer options make it easier to choose, right?
They range from guesthouses to city hotels to luxury inns, and room sizes run from the 20-square-meter range at the smallest up to 50 ㎡.
It’s said that 36 ㎡ or more is comfortable for three people, so if your budget allows, I recommend Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi and Yunokawa Onsen Yuyado Souan.
Prices range from 4,500 yen to 27,455 yen, and Yunokawa Onsen Yuyado Souan, which sits in quiet surroundings, comes to about 27,000 yen per person per night.
The cheap ones have poor access to Izumo Taisha, so a pragmatic approach is fine too!
Personally, I recommend Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi, which has plenty of room and is within walking distance of Izumo Taisha! It’s run by Kyoritsu Resort, so you can book with peace of mind!
Hotels With Triple Rooms Around Izumo
When traveling as three, whether a girls’ trip, a guys’ trip, or a family trip, the tricky part is finding a hotel with a triple room that guarantees one bed per person.
Stays by three people are less common than stays by two, so many hotels have no triple rooms, or sell a twin room with an extra bed as a triple room. Hotels with triple rooms that have one equal-sized bed per person almost don’t exist.
There are four hotels with triple rooms around Izumo, and I’ve compiled the plumbing details, which are hard to find on official sites, through my own research.
| Hotel name | Price (per person, per night) | Bath | Washbasin | Toilet |
| Villa Izumoya | From 4,500 yen | None | None | None |
| Izumo Royal Hotel | From 6,700 yen | Combined | Combined | Combined |
| Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi | From 26,400 yen | Separate | Separate | Separate |
| Yunokawa Onsen Yuyado Souan | From 27,455 yen | None | Separate | Separate |
As for the plumbing everyone worries about, practically only one hotel has the bath, toilet, and washbasin all separated: Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi.
If you don’t need a bath, Yunokawa Onsen Yuyado Souan also has a separate washbasin and toilet.
Note that at Villa Izumoya, the rooms have no bath, washbasin, or toilet, and everything is shared.
Now let’s look at each hotel in turn.
Villa Izumoya

Villa Izumoya, whose interior was renovated in April 2022, is about 15 minutes by car from Izumo Taisha and is an easygoing inn you can stay at for a relatively low price.
The building has a spacious lobby, a shared bath, and massage chairs, so you can unwind and ease your travel fatigue.
At Villa Izumoya, the room with three guaranteed beds is the renovated Western-style room.
There’s only one in the building, Room 206, and it’s a large room that can sleep up to five.
Access to Izumo Taisha isn’t convenient, but access to Hinomisaki Shrine and the Hinomisaki Lighthouse is good, so be sure to visit!

Three beds are lined up side by side, and for a party of five two more beds are added, so three people won’t feel cramped.
Right in front of the entrance are a counter table and tall counter chairs, so you can chat happily with a drink in hand.
The room has no bath, toilet, or washbasin (all are shared), so because the rate is cheap, you need to pick your occasion.
Villa Izumoya owns a pleasure boat, so if you want to try the “Izumo, the Holy Land Where the Sun Sets” cruise, you can use it at a good price.

Izumo Royal Hotel

Izumo Royal Hotel is about 15 minutes by car from Izumo Taisha, in the center of Izumo City, and is used not only for stays but also for weddings and conventions.
At Izumo Royal Hotel, the room with three guaranteed beds is the Triple Room.
There’s only one Triple Room on each floor, so once you decide, book early!

Three 110 cm Simmons beds are lined up side by side, and the room is laid out like a living room, where everyone can sit on chairs around the table in front of the TV.
Because the living area is spacious, the washbasin, bath, and toilet are in the same area, like a typical business hotel.
Breakfast is a Japanese-Western small-dish buffet created by the chef, and popular items include Nita rice from Okuizumo delivered straight from farmers, shijimi clam miso soup, and Izumo yogurt, which is a hit with kids.
With breakfast and dinner included, from 6,700 yen for the cheapest weekday stay is a great value! The mattress is the high-quality, pressure-distributing “Airweave.”

Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi

Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi is well located, just a 7-minute walk from Izumo Taisha, and is an all-tatami hotel run by Kyoritsu Resort, themed on the rabbit, long considered an auspicious animal.
At Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi, the room with three guaranteed beds is the Deluxe Triple.

The Deluxe Triple is 48 ㎡ with three 110 cm-wide beds. The beds are low, so you can even get the feel of sleeping on futons laid out on the floor.
There’s also a space where you can sit on chairs and chat, making it a perfect inn for a girls’ trip.
The building follows universal design, so even guests who use wheelchairs or have difficulty walking can stay with peace of mind.
Izumo Taisha, Inasa-no-Hama beach, and the Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo History are all within walking distance, so it’s a convenient base for sightseeing!

Yunokawa Onsen Yuyado Souan

Yunokawa Onsen Yuyado Souan is in Yunokawa Onsen in Izumo, Shimane, one of Japan’s Three Famous Hot Springs for Beauty. Nestled deep in the mountains, it’s a blissful inn where everything speaks to you in refined comfort.
At Yunokawa Onsen Yuyado Souan, the room with three guaranteed beds is the Western-style room overlooking the woods (Hiko).

The room name is a little confusing, but the Western-style room overlooking the woods (Hiko) is a triple room with three beds. Look up and you’ll see exposed beams, and in the spacious 50 ㎡ old-folk-house-style layout you’re sure to be comfortable.
The washbasin and toilet are separate and inside the room, but there’s no shower booth or bathroom, so you use the five private baths in a separate building.
All the hot springs are free-flowing from the source and are for private use! If they’re free, you can enjoy all five baths, so if hot springs are your goal, Yunokawa Onsen Yuyado Souan is the only choice!
