【Beds Guaranteed】Best Hotels Near Honolulu/Waikiki with Triple Rooms (Fully Researched)

Hi there! I’m Joe (@chiropiyo0331).

This time I’m introducing hotels around Honolulu with triple rooms where every guest is guaranteed their own bed — one bed per person, no exceptions.

Honolulu is the liveliest part of Hawaii, home to Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, and Hanauma Bay, plus shopping spots like Ala Moana Center and DFS. It’s one of the world’s most popular travel destinations, drawing visitors from every corner of the globe year-round.

Have you ever struggled to find a Honolulu/Waikiki hotel that actually guarantees one bed per person for a party of three?

When three friends, three guys, or a parent-and-child trio travel together, ending up with an extra bed or sofa bed instead of a real third bed can turn a fun trip into an argument over sleeping arrangements — and nobody wants that.

In this article, I’ll introduce hotels around Honolulu that offer triple rooms with one proper bed per guest.

Triple rooms are actually rare at overseas hotels to begin with

Why triple rooms are hard to find at hotels overseas

When you hear “triple room,” you probably picture a single room with three beds lined up inside, right?

In Japan there’s even an expression for the whole family sleeping “in a row” — the child in the middle, parents on either side — so sharing one room and one sleeping space between three (or more) people is completely normal.

In Europe, the US, and Hawaii, though, the culture is different: kids typically get their own room from a young age, and sleeping solo is the norm.

Overseas, a “three-bedroom” usually means three separate bedrooms, each with its own bed — not one room with three beds crammed in.

Against that backdrop, Honolulu hotels that offer a single room with three real beds are, unfortunately, few and far between.

They’re rare — but they do exist if you look hard enough!

So I went and searched every single one.

List of hotels near Honolulu/Waikiki with triple rooms

Honolulu has upwards of 150 hotels and condominiums scattered across the city.

Search “3 guests, 1 room” on a travel booking site, though, and you’ll mostly get one king bed, two singles, or two singles plus a sofa bed or rollaway — rarely the actual three-bed room you’re after.

So I went hotel by hotel around Honolulu/Waikiki, checking whether each one genuinely offers a triple room with one bed per person, and organized the results into a table.

Note: hotels that only offer this via a rollaway or sofa bed, rooms rated for 4+ guests that happen to have 3 beds, and standalone houses/villas have all been excluded from this list.

There are only 6 hotels around Honolulu that guarantee one real bed per person in a triple room.
They’re listed below from cheapest to most expensive.

🌴 Sort by:

*Prices are reference lowest rates found on Expedia (searched in JPY), inclusive of tax, service charges, and extra-guest fees. USD figures are rough conversions only — always check live pricing before booking.

With so many hotels around Honolulu/Waikiki, it’s honestly a relief to only have to choose from these 6!
Here’s where all six sit on the map:

If we define “good location” as being close to lively Kalakaua Avenue, Waikiki Beach, and views of Diamond Head, then the only hotel that combines a great location with a reasonable price is the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort.

For three people sharing a room comfortably, aim for at least 36㎡; if you also want room to fully open large suitcases and stretch out, 40㎡+ is ideal — and the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort’s 42㎡ hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Prices start around ¥70,000 (~$460) per room, while Espacio The Jewel of Waikiki — a luxury property that opened in 2019 — starts at roughly ¥640,000 (~$4,270) for the ultimate splurge.

The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort is close to Waikiki Beach and unbeatable value! Sheraton Waikiki is the next-best value pick — right across from Waikiki Beach and run by Marriott International, making it a great choice for a mother-daughter trip too.

Hotels near Honolulu/Waikiki with triple rooms

Finding a triple room is one of the trickiest parts of planning a girls’ trip, guys’ trip, or a parent-and-daughter getaway to Hawaii.

Unlike Japan, it’s rare for Hawaii hotel rooms to have three beds in a single room — one bed per room is the norm — but there are 6 hotels in total that do offer a genuine triple room.

Let’s go through each one in detail.

The Twin Fin Hotel

The Twin Fin Hotel triple room, quoted from the official Twin Fin Waikiki site

The Twin Fin Hotel is run by hospitality company Highgate and sits in a fantastic spot right on Waikiki Beach and along Kalakaua Avenue.

After a multi-million-dollar renovation, it reopened in November 2022, so the interior feels fresh and clean.

The hotel’s name comes from a surfboard with two fins.

The Twin Fin Hotel and Waikiki Beach with a view of Diamond Head

The Twin Fin Hotel sits right in the heart of the action, tourists everywhere, and along Kalakaua Avenue it’s perfect for shopping and dining. It’s also an easy trip to popular sights like the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, and Kapiolani Park.

At The Twin Fin Hotel, the room type that guarantees 3 beds is the Triple Room.

It has a Diamond Head view and three double beds, so there’s plenty of bed width for everyone.

It’s the cheapest of all the triple-bed-guaranteed hotels on this list, but at just 29㎡ it can feel a little tight for three people. If you’re after a budget-friendly girls’ or guys’ trip, though, this is a solid pick. Japanese-speaking staff aren’t on-site full time, but they are around at certain hours, so it’s worth catching them then.

The room has a warm, wood-toned look, with the beds arranged along both sides. The open space in the middle is perfect for chatting the night away with your travel companions.

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, quoted from the official site

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is Honolulu’s largest resort at roughly 90,000㎡, made up of five distinct hotel towers run by Hilton Hotels & Resorts.

On-site you’ll find 5 pools and more than 15 restaurants, cafes, and bars, plus over 80 boutiques, specialty shops, gift shops, and convenience stores — genuinely everything you need, right inside the resort. It really is a paradise within Waikiki.

Every Friday night, you can watch fireworks from an ocean-view room balcony.

In The Alii Tower at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, the room type that guarantees 3 beds is the Tapa Family Room.

Three double beds sit side by side in a spacious 53㎡ room! There’s also a sofa and desk in the middle, giving everyone plenty of room to spread out — perfect for a girls’ trip, guys’ trip, or family vacation.

Unfortunately, the Family Room has a city view rather than ocean view, but the fireworks seen from The Alii’s guest-only pool deck are simply the best.

Japanese-speaking staff are on-site full time, so you can stay with peace of mind even if your English isn’t strong!

Sheraton Waikiki

Sheraton Waikiki, quoted from the official site

Sheraton Waikiki spreads out like a pair of wings facing Waikiki Beach, and more than 70% of its rooms have an ocean view — a true classic Hawaii resort.

Every room was renovated in 2021, including the bathrooms. The toilets are separate from the vanity and come with TOTO washlets, which is unusual for Hawaii and popular with groups of women traveling together.

It’s got fantastic access to the restaurants and shops along the Royal Hawaiian Center and Kalakaua Avenue.

At Sheraton Waikiki, the room type that guarantees 3 beds is the Family Room.

The renovated rooms feature a distinctive wall design inspired by Hawaii’s ocean.

Outlets include USB and USB-C ports too.

The room is 25㎡, so it can feel a bit tight if everyone tries to fully unpack large suitcases at once — plan to be considerate of each other’s space.

It doesn’t have an ocean or Diamond Head view (it’s a city view instead), which is exactly why the price is kept lower.

Sheraton Waikiki also has a second room type that guarantees 3 beds: the Luxury Room.

The Luxury Room comes in at 59㎡, big enough to open two large suitcases without anyone feeling cramped.

It sits right next to a Deluxe Ocean Front room, so the two rooms can even be used together as one connected suite.

Stepping out onto the balcony with a drink in hand, watching Diamond Head while listening to the Waikiki Beach surf, is about as luxurious as it gets!
