Overview of Lotte Arai Resort

First, let’s cover the basics of Lotte Arai Resort as a hotel.
Lotte Arai Resort is a combined resort facility in Myoko City, Niigata, pairing a ski area with a resort hotel. Beyond the guest rooms, it’s packed with facilities — a natural hot spring, pool, kids’ room, a range of shops, convention rooms for business use, a spa, and even a gym.
In the green season, you can enjoy Japan’s largest tree-top adventure course set in the resort’s sprawling forest, which draws plenty of visitors year-round.

Overview of Spa Manna

Spa Manna is a relaxation facility on the 1st floor of Lotte Arai Resort’s LODGE building, with a spa, pool, and fitness area.
This facility is open winter-season only, and typically closes at the end of March.
Beyond massage treatments, there’s also a full spa — definitely worth checking out!

If you’re staying in the ARAI building, you can get there in about 3 minutes via the underground passage connecting to the LODGE building.

Follow the signs reading “SPA MANNA” and you’ll find the path leading to Spa Manna.
The approach itself builds a real sense of anticipation.

Keep walking and the reception and lobby area comes into view.
A relaxing space built around beige tones.

When we visited, the staff member was away, in the middle of treating another guest.
At Spa Manna, you get a 30-minute private open-air bath and sauna session overlooking the snow, followed by your booked treatment.
Almost too indulgent.
Spa Manna’s Lockers

Reception sits at the center, with men’s and women’s locker rooms and bathing facilities on either side.
Built with the kind of refined finish you’d expect at a luxury hotel.

The lockers are spacious, and even the two wooden hangers inside feel stylish.
Since you’d normally leave your belongings in your room anyway, this is more than enough space.

Shoe lockers are separate. Slippers aren’t allowed anywhere in the facility — you wear your shoes throughout.
Spa Manna’s Indoor & Open-Air Baths

The indoor bath sits in the center, spacious enough to fit a whole group.
There’s a shower booth toward the back of the entrance.

The open-air bath feels more like the compact one you’d get in a private guest room, but it’s a private space where you can warm up while taking in the snow.
Spa Manna’s Sauna

To the left before the entrance, there’s a dry sauna and a mist sauna. Even though your session is only 30 minutes, you can use both freely.

Inside, it’s a properly dry sauna. At around 90°C, you’ll start sweating in about 7 minutes.
Hot, and properly steamed through!

Not a fan of intense heat? No worries.
The mist sauna runs at a lower temperature with higher humidity, so it’s never stifling — a refresh for both body and mind.

The powder room after your bath is also spacious, and with no one else around to bother you, it feels like a real luxury.

It felt incredible!!
Summary

This time, during our stay at Lotte Arai Resort in Myoko, Niigata — run by major Korean hotel group Lotte Hotel — we tried out Spa Manna!
It’s certainly not cheap, but you essentially have the whole facility to yourself, so you can enjoy it without worrying about anyone else around — that sense of exclusivity is the best part!!
After the hot bath, we got to experience a first-class treatment from the magic hands of a hand-picked therapist. The 80 minutes flew by.
Since most guests will be spending their time on the slopes, we’d strongly recommend booking your treatment for the day you check out, after you’re done skiing.

A private open-air bath, sauna, and a top-tier treatment, all practically to yourself — Spa Manna is the perfect way to cap off a ski trip to Lotte Arai Resort!
