Hi! I’m Joe.

This time, as lodging for a Malaysia trip, I stayed at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, located in the “KL Sentral area,” the sightseeing base of Kuala Lumpur (KL).

In this article, I’d like to introduce in detail my impressions and a real review of actually staying at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

“People who want to stay at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral but are curious about the actual room size and atmosphere”

“People looking for a station-adjacent hotel in central Kuala Lumpur where getting around is just so convenient”

“People looking for a good-value Marriott-group hotel”

This article is ideal for people like these, so please be sure to read to the end.

Who is Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral recommended for? Explaining its 3 attractions

Aloft Osaka Dojima blog stay report

Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and one of Southeast Asia’s leading big cities, so naturally it has countless hotels.

There are many hotels in central KL Sentral and elsewhere. With this many hotels, you’ll struggle to decide where to stay for a Malaysia trip or a business trip to Kuala Lumpur.

This time, I chose this hotel in the KL Sentral area, and based on actually staying, the people suited to staying at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral are as follows.

・Those who are Marriott Bonvoy elite members and want to stay at a Marriott-group hotel with good value
・Those who want to try staying at a stylish designer hotel
・Those who want to base themselves in Kuala Lumpur and prioritize city sightseeing and airport access

I’ll explain them in order.

The first is people who are Marriott Bonvoy elite members and want to stay at a Marriott-group hotel with good value.

This is probably the biggest reason to stay at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, or the reason for what’s called “Marriott status running.”
Marriott-group hotels in Malaysia have reasonable rates compared with Japan, and Aloft in particular is outstanding in value!

Elite members (Platinum, Titanium, Ambassador) can mainly receive one of the following benefits.

  • 500 Marriott Bonvoy points
  • Breakfast restaurant (for 2 people)

Both are attractive.

The second is people who want to try staying at a stylish designer hotel.

True to the brand concept “Different. By Design.”, Aloft spreads out a pop, stylish space from the lobby to the guest rooms to the pool.

The third is people who want to prioritize transportation convenience in central Kuala Lumpur.

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral is directly connected to “KL Sentral Station” and the large shopping mall “NU Sentral.”

After getting off the airport express (KLIA Express) you can reach the hotel without getting rained on, and the LRT, monorail, and other major lines can all be boarded from here, so even on your first time in Kuala Lumpur you won’t get lost, and it boasts a top location!

Joe had a train trip to Penang Island planned for the next morning, so I chose a hotel near KL Sentral Station!

Directly connected to KL Sentral Station and the mall! Access to Aloft Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding area

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral is a designer hotel operated by Marriott International, directly connected by a passage to KL Sentral Station and the adjacent large shopping mall “NU Sentral”, with excellent access to major areas of the city.

Inside “NU Sentral,” right next to (directly connected to) the hotel, are a large supermarket, convenience stores, and drugstores, plus numerous restaurants of every genre lined up, including Asian cuisine such as Malay food, Japanese food, Chinese food, and fast food.

For getting around too, the airport express (KLIA Express), LRT, MRT, monorail, and every other line are all gathered within walking distance, so you can move smoothly without getting rained on.

[Blog stay report] A thorough report on Aloft Kuala Lumpur’s guest rooms and hotel facilities!

Station-connected Aloft Kuala Lumpur: guest rooms and hotel facilities

Now, let me introduce the details of Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, where I stayed this time.

Getting to the hotel from KL Sentral Station took about 3 minutes on foot via the connecting passage! I was rolling a suitcase, so it was a huge help.

A glass-fronted, stylish main entrance. Aloft’s signature vivid blue neon peeks out, a space that thrills you just by entering!

A futuristic lobby and smooth check-in

Past the entrance, in the middle of the spacious lobby is Aloft’s signature round front desk.

A normal front desk is a long counter against a wall, but this one is a futuristic design that lets you talk with staff from any of 360 degrees. It matches the large ring-shaped light on the ceiling and is very stylish.

Station-connected: a futuristic lobby and smooth check-in (2)

Around the front desk, I found a spacious lobby lounge that guests can use freely.

Vivid red rocking chairs for relaxing are arranged. In the back are a large wooden table and desk lamps, making it an excellent co-working space for PC work or planning your trip.

Station-connected: a futuristic lobby and smooth check-in (3)

In one corner of the lobby is “Re:fuel by Aloft,” a kiosk where you can buy snacks and drinks 24 hours a day.

The shelves are lined with Malaysian-style cup noodles and snacks, and the fridge is stocked with soft drinks as well as alcohol such as Tiger beer.

When you get a little hungry or want a drink in your room late at night, you don’t have to go out, so it’s a very welcome facility.

Station-connected: a futuristic lobby and smooth check-in (4)

Right behind the kiosk is a self-serve counter where you can make freshly ground, authentic coffee, tea, and more.

Ordering and payment are done at the register on the counter.
It’s perfect for café time before you leave in the morning or when you want to catch your breath after sightseeing.

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral is a high-rise hotel with 30 floors above ground (including the rooftop floor).

Based on the floor guide in the elevator, I summarized the main facilities.

  • R floor (rooftop): SPLASH (pool), MAI BAR (rooftop bar)
  • Floors 5–29: Guest room floors
  • Floors 3–4: Gym (RE:CHARGE), meeting space, ballroom
  • Floor 1: NOOK (main restaurant that also serves as the breakfast venue)
  • G floor (ground floor): Lobby, front desk, Re:fuel (kiosk), WXYZ Bar

*Malaysia uses British-style floor numbering, so Japan’s 1st floor is the “G (ground) floor,” and Japan’s 2nd floor is the “1st floor.”

On the rooftop (R floor) at the top, Aloft’s showpiece scenic pool and the popular rooftop bar are gathered, making it a design that lets you enjoy a compact but fulfilling hotel stay.

Heading up to the guest room floor, a pop, stylish, Aloft-style elevator hall spreads out.

The floor is covered with a colorful striped carpet, a modern space that matches perfectly with the warm wood-grain walls.

The end of the hall is a large glass window, with a luxurious view of Kuala Lumpur’s modern cluster of skyscrapers!

This time I stayed in “Room 2614” on the 26th floor.

The guest room doors lining the corridor are a warm wood tone, and even the room numbers carry the Aloft logo.

You can feel the stylish commitment down to the details.

The key is a smart-lock type where you hold the card key to the sensor on the door handle.

Now, let’s go look at the inside of the room you’re curious about!

Opening the door, an open, spacious space leads from the entry passage to the main room beyond.

This time I stayed in a King Room with one large king-size bed.

On the near side is an open-type wardrobe with excellent storage, and further in spreads a main room with warm wood flooring.

Going further into the room, a more spacious, open space than I expected spreads out

Plenty of space is secured in front of the bed, so even several large suitcases can be opened with room to spare, even with multiple people.

In front is a big king-size bed with great sleeping comfort, and Aloft’s signature cylindrical cushions were a modern accent.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (3)

The bed is a luxuriously wide king size, wide enough for two adults to sleep sprawled out.

The mattress firmness is just right, neither too firm nor too soft, and refreshes away your fatigue.

A vivid pink art panel decorates the top of the headboard. It was painted with a pop-art-style illustration that you could call the signature of the Aloft brand.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (4)

On the side table is a stylish digital alarm clock by swissmann, easy to read.

Switches for the various lights are gathered on the wall, and the large leftmost button is a “Master” switch, so you can turn off all the room’s lights at once at bedtime, which is very convenient.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (5)

On the wall at the foot of the bed is a powerful large wall-mounted TV.

The arm lets you change the angle a little, so you can comfortably enjoy videos and programs on the big screen even while lying on the bed.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (8)

On the tray on the desk is a café set packed with Aloft’s commitment.

Especially rare is that a French press is provided so you can brew authentic coffee yourself.

In addition, takeout cups with lids bearing the Aloft logo are provided, so you can take drinks you brewed in the room straight out to sightseeing or the lobby, which is very convenient.

Two bottles of original-design free mineral water are also provided.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (6)

Right after check-in, staff brought snacks to the room.

  • The Malaysian classic prawn crackers “Double Decker”
  • Peanuts and oriental mixed nuts
  • Oreo (OREO)

Minibar items are mostly paid, but these are all free!

I have a very early departure tomorrow morning, so I’ll have these for breakfast.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (10)

There was a refrigerator in the lower section, so I immediately chilled the two free bottles of mineral water.

Even better, along with the free snacks above, the staff member went out of their way to bring Pepsi cola and sparkling water to the room too! Of course, these are all free too.

Under the minibar is a refrigerator with a clear glass door. Stylish!

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (7)

The area under the desk where the minibar sits is laid out functionally, making effective use of space.

On the left, a folding luggage rack is stored, which you can pull out quickly only when you use it.

On the right sits a compact mini fridge.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (12)

Next to it on the left is a work desk ideal for business use or light work.

A black light is set on the desk, brightly lighting your hands.

An office chair is provided, so it’s nice that your body doesn’t tire even during long PC sessions.

On the wall at left, several outlets and USB ports are gathered, and you can plug in Japanese plugs as they are to charge smartphones and power PCs.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (13)

From the room’s large window, an open city view!!

In front stand skyscrapers and condominiums, and at their feet spreads a Southeast Asian townscape, a dynamic view unique to Malaysia where old and new merge.

Under the hanger rack are an iron and Resesh (deodorizing spray).

Opposite the hanger rack is a large mirror. You’re all set for getting ready!

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (14)

At the near side of the main room is a stylish, spacious washbasin area.

It has a large mirror across the whole wall and a clean square freestanding wash bowl, with plenty of counter space around it for placing items.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (15)

Next to the washbasin is a full set of amenities needed for your stay.

  • Toothbrush set (DENTAL KIT) ×2
  • Cotton and shower cap (with Aloft logo)
  • Hand towel
  • Bar soap (BODY BAR)

Opening the case’s drawer reveals various amenities like a toothbrush and razor.
Is it my imagination that there aren’t enough for the number of people..

Under the washbasin are bath towels and face towels. For some reason, even though it’s a twin room, towels for three people are set out.

Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (16)

On the shelf right next to the washbasin area, supplies are compactly gathered.

  • Hair dryer: On the top shelf, in a vivid pink bag that is also Aloft’s theme color.
  • Safety box: An electronic safe where you set your own PIN.
  • Slippers and laundry bag: Fluffy disposable slippers, a laundry bag with the Aloft logo, and spare toilet paper are provided.
Station-connected: the full picture of the king bed room! A welcome perk of free snacks (17)

Looking to the left of the shelf, a neat open-type closet is installed.

The hangers prepared in advance are wooden types with clips that can firmly hold bottoms too.

On overseas trips there’s a lot of clothing you want to hang up, so it’s appreciated that there are plenty.

Reviewing the washbasin, shower room, and toilet! The drybar amenities are excellent

Station-connected: reviewing the washbasin, shower room, and toilet! The drybar amenities are excellent

It’s a shower-booth-only design with no bathtub, but that makes it an easy-to-use space.

The front wall is decorated with pop purple mosaic tile conscious of the brand color, a playful design!
A rain shower gently pours down from a high position near the ceiling, and the water pressure was more than adequate, thoroughly washing away the day’s fatigue.

Station-connected: reviewing the washbasin, shower room, and toilet! The drybar amenities are excellent (2)

The dispenser-type bath amenities mounted on the wall are from the popular New York hair salon brand “drybar.” Wrapped in a refreshing, luxurious scent with hints of mint and woodiness, you can spend a blissful shower time.

Station-connected: reviewing the washbasin, shower room, and toilet! The drybar amenities are excellent (3)

On the back of the toilet on the left side of the shower booth, pop purple mosaic tile is also applied.

To the left of the toilet seat is the hose-type shower unique to Southeast Asia, but toilet paper is also provided, so Japanese guests probably won’t have much occasion to use it.

Station-connected: reviewing the washbasin, shower room, and toilet! The drybar amenities are excellent (4)

The shower booth and toilet are separate, but they’re divided by a glass partition that slides left and right so it can be closed.

A bath towel hangs on the central glass door, so the flow from showering to using it is very smooth.

Free 24 hours a day! The serious fitness gym “Re:charge”

Station-connected: free 24 hours a day! The serious fitness gym Re:charge

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral has a serious fitness gym, “Re:charge,” that guests can use free of charge 24 hours a day.

With Aloft’s stylish striped carpet, it’s a space that boosts your training motivation.

The machines are all Life Fitness, and treadmills, bikes, and even a dumbbell area were fully provided.

Overlooking Kuala Lumpur’s skyscrapers! The superb infinity pool “Splash”

Station-connected: an infinity pool with a superb view of Kuala Lumpur's skyscrapers! Splash

Like the fitness gym, another place you’ll want to visit is the rooftop pool “Splash” on the top floor.

It’s an open infinity pool where you can enjoy a superb view of Kuala Lumpur.

Palm trees are planted at the poolside, with a relaxed atmosphere fitting an Asian resort.

At night it’s lit up and would probably become even more romantic!

Enjoy Malaysian dishes too! The atmosphere of the breakfast restaurant “Nook”

Station-connected: enjoy Malaysian dishes too! The atmosphere of the breakfast restaurant Nook

Breakfast to start the day is at “Nook.”

A stylish, lively, Aloft-style space blending pop lime-green-based interior with a design reminiscent of an airplane cabin.

I was planning to go to Penang Island early in the morning this time, so I had to give up on breakfast!!

[Overall review] My real impressions of staying at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral

Station-connected: my real impressions of staying at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral

Among Marriott-group hotels, “Aloft” is the pop, casual brand.

I’ll summarize my real impressions from actually staying as pros and cons.

To get straight to the conclusion, it was an “excellent hotel with location, value, and practicality all pulled together at a high level.”

  • Station-connected location Directly connected to KL Sentral Station, with rain-free access to the huge “NU Sentral” mall. After traveling from the airport, being able to check in quickly while still carrying heavy luggage is easy.
  • Generous hospitality The surprise of staff bringing “free snacks and drinks other than water (cola and sparkling water)” all the way to the room was very satisfying.
  • High-quality shared facilities The rooftop infinity pool, where you can feel a tropical air against a backdrop of skyscrapers, is a stunning location.
