Hotel Details of Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station

Here are the details of the hotel where I stayed this time, Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station.
This time I arrived in 2 minutes on foot from the Shinkansen Central Gate at Shin-Osaka Station. It’s really convenient for people transferring to the Shinkansen!
For detailed directions, please refer to the official YouTube channel.

It’s a 19-story hotel with entrances on the 1st floor and the lobby floor. The main entrance is the lobby floor connected to Shin-Osaka Station, where the front desk is.
On the 1st floor is a 24-hour fitness center for guests only; floors 4–18 are guest rooms, and the 8th floor is the smoking room.
On the 19th floor are the executive lounge with views of Osaka’s night skyline, Bar19, and the teppanyaki restaurant Ikka Ichiyo.
Check-in

Palm trees make the beautiful main entrance memorable. It isn’t very large, but the gold finish gives it glamour.
As expected of a Marriott hotel!!

A glowing white pillar object. It feels luxurious~.

The lobby is elegantly finished and a calming space.
Sofas where you can sit back comfortably line the window side.

If you pay in advance, check-in is completed smoothly. There was no detailed tour of the hotel.
At check-out, if there are no additional charges, you can easily check out just by dropping your room key in the box on the right.
That’s very handy when you’re in a hurry in the morning for a Shinkansen train.
Guest Room

Check-in done, so I took the elevator to the guest room floor. There are 3 elevators, so it wasn’t very crowded.

This time our room was on the 8th floor. The elevator hall is dim, but it has a chic design that feels calming.

The guest room corridor is beige × dark brown, also with a chic finish.

The room number glows under indirect lighting, which is evocative.

Our room was 821, a Courtyard Room King.

The king bed has a strong presence, but at 30 ㎡ the room doesn’t feel cramped at all.

Even from the back of the room the bed has a decent presence. There’s good depth on the window side too.

An orange sofa and a round table.
Marriott cushion covers are always stylish.

A work table with a light stand and a swivel chair. The seat is comfortable too.

A TV stand inevitably makes a room feel cramped, so the TV is wall-mounted, which keeps it neat.
It’s large and very easy to watch!!

The luggage space. A large suitcase can only be placed on it and can’t be opened to take things in and out, but a carry-on-size case can stay open.

On both sides of the king bed are light switches (footlight, entrance, room lights, bedside light, master, reading light) and one outlet. It’s a little disappointing that there’s no USB port.

On the corridor side are a mineral water service, glasses, cups, an electric kettle, and a minibar.

There’s space in front to pour drinks, which is convenient.
The blue récolte electric kettle is cute.

The minibar has Key Coffee, Nescafé regular soluble coffee (with creamer),Ahmad Tea, and Ito En green tea. A wide variety!

The closet by the entrance has hangers, a clothesbrush, a shoehorn, a safe, in-room slippers, and an iron. The closet is spacious too.
The slippers are for in-room use only, and you can’t go to the restaurant in them, so please be careful.
Washbasin, Bathroom & Toilet

The washbasin, bathroom, and toilet aren’t separate but in one room, Western style.
But unlike a typical business hotel, it’s quite spacious, as you can tell from the photos.

The washbasin is wide and roomy!

To reduce plastic use, razors, hairbrushes, shower caps, hair ties, and adhesive bandages are available on request.

A Panasonic hair dryer with a negative-ion function.

It’s easy to overlook, but the bath towel set is on the shelf under the washbasin. The towels are very fluffy.

The bath is half covered by a splash-guard glass panel.
But don’t let your guard down: the bath mat still gets wet, so be careful. Because it’s glass, there’s no musty smell, which is reassuring.

As for the shower water pressure everyone worries about, it’s strong and no problem. Water pressure matters more than you’d think.
Top-Floor Lounge at Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station

Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station has an executive lounge, Bar19, and the teppanyaki restaurant Ikka Ichiyo on the top 19th floor.

At Bar19 you can enjoy world and Japanese premium drinks and special cocktails while viewing Shin-Osaka’s night skyline from the window box seats. It’s open to non-guests too.

The night view from the Bar19 counter seats. There are lots of neon lights, but it’s dazzling and lovely.

There are no high-rise buildings around Shin-Osaka, so a night view from above is rare, and a cocktail while enjoying a spectacular dusk is wonderful too.

Only users can enter the executive lounge, but this time I was specially allowed a look.

You can see the night view from the executive lounge too, just like at Bar19.

It might actually be harder to concentrate, but there are 2 seats with PC use service.
Fitness Gym at Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station

The fitness gym is on the 1st floor, below the lobby floor. It’s available 24 hours.
Only guests can use it, and you enter by unlocking with your room key.

Various treadmills are lined up.

At the back there’s also a free-weight area.
Breakfast at Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station

Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station‘s breakfast is served at Dining & Bar LAVAROCK on the lobby floor.
The breakfast price was revised on Saturday, July 1, 2023, and is now Breakfast Buffet ¥3,900.

The buffet is split into two areas: salad, breads, cereal, and desserts at the front, and Japanese and Western dishes and drinks at the back left.

Apart from what’s on the buffet line, the following dishes and drinks are ordered from the staff.

I can’t eat everything, so I ordered the pickled-vegetable omelet and poached eggs.
You can order as many omelet ingredients as you like! Try the all-toppings challenge.

Fluffy croissants, everybody’s favorite.

Top shelf: muffins (caramel banana, chocolate chip, plain) and Danish pastries (chocolate, apricot, blueberry, strawberry).
Bottom shelf: white bread, whole wheat bread, pain au lait, walnut bread, coupe rolls, whole-grain sourdough rolls, and rye bread with raisins and walnuts.

The salads are varied too: corn, red cabbage, mizuna, carrot, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and lettuce.

There are also cold cuts such as pastrami, steamed Mitsuse chicken, prosciutto, and smoked salmon.
The lower shelf is stocked with items popular with international guests, such as lemon, fried onion, croutons, capers, red onion, pickles, whole-grain mustard, and olive oil.

Plain yogurt, strawberry yogurt, and low-fat yogurt.

There are also dried fruits that taste great mixed into yogurt, such as tropical muesli, mango sauce, caramel banana, and chocolate banana.

There’s a lot of cereal too!
Corn flakes, Corn Frosties, Choco Wa, fruit granola, All-Bran, brown rice flakes, organic corn flakes, and various other dried fruits are available.

The counter at the back is mostly Western dishes: herb sausages, bacon, crispy bacon, hash browns, green beans, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, and curry-flavored mixed beans.

Japanese dishes include colorful tofu, simmered burdock and beef tongue (irini), bamboo shoot kinpira, spinach ohitashi, thick rolled omelet, and mackerel.

Accompaniments for rice include shibazuke pickles, natto, salted kelp, takuan, umeboshi, pickled cucumber, and seasoned nori.

There’s also a yudofu (simmered tofu) corner. You rarely eat yudofu in the morning, so give it a try.

You can also add shrimp balls, pine nuts, yujo, zha cai, wood ear mushrooms, chicken, salted kelp, goji berries, cilantro, and shredded chili to taste.

Red miso soup with green onion, wakame, and fu (wheat gluten). It warms you up.
