Hello! (@chiropiyo0331) here.
“Spa Land Hotel Naito,” a hot spring facility boasting one of the largest scales in Yamanashi.
Many of you may be hesitating, wondering, “It’s an old facility, so are the fixtures actually dated?” or “How clean is it?”
To get straight to the point, the building does show its history, but the interior has been renovated repeatedly, and the sauna and rock-bed spa in particular combine up-to-date comfort to the point of being called “the holy ground of Yamanashi.”
Based on the latest information as of 2026, this article reviews the “points where the age shows” that I found from actually staying, and the “appeal of the saunas and hot springs” that far outweighs them!
“Looking for an inn around Isawa with a truly rich selection of baths” “I want to refresh all day with saunas and rock-bed spas!”
I’ve condensed what such people want to know.
I’ll also tell you, without holding back, the points you’d regret not checking before your stay.
- Who is Spa Land Hotel Naito recommended for?
- Access and parking: the free shuttle bus is handy!
- In-hotel check-in and the welcome drink

Who is Spa Land Hotel Naito recommended for?

Isawa Onsen, where Spa Land Hotel Naito is located, is one of the largest hot spring areas in Yamanashi Prefecture and is bustling with tourists thanks to its good access from central Tokyo.
Around Isawa Onsen there are many inns, from long-established ryokan to large hotels. With so many to choose from, it’s hard to decide where to stay in Isawa Onsen, right?
This time, the author chose this inn with the goal of “simply relaxing and enjoying baths to the fullest!!”, and based on my actual stay, the people best suited to stay at Spa Land Hotel Naito are as follows.
>[21% off] Spa Land Hotel Naito
- You want to relax by soaking in as many kinds of baths and saunas as possible
- You want to enjoy Yamanashi’s signature “wine bath” and an authentic rock-bed spa
- High-end ryokan feel intimidating, so you want to stay somewhere affordable with good value
I’ll explain them in order.
A superb environment where sauna and hot spring lovers can enjoy themselves all day
The first group is people who want to relax by soaking in as many kinds of baths and saunas as possible.
Besides the spacious indoor baths, there is a wide variety including open-air baths and jet baths.
What stands out is the richness of the saunas: besides a high-temperature sauna, there are salt saunas and more, specs that satisfy even sauna fans. Even the time spent wondering “Which bath next?” is fun, and you can enjoy bathing like an amusement, not just soaking in hot water.
The second group is people who want to enjoy Yamanashi’s signature “wine bath” and an authentic rock-bed spa.
Yamanashi means wine, and here you can enjoy its benefits with your whole body!!
The signature “wine bath” wraps you in a rich aroma that gives an elegant feeling, and you can experience a sensation that blows away the fatigue of travel!
The rock-bed spa (stone spa) is also authentic. It has several temperatures and types of stones, perfect for those who want to sweat thoroughly and detox!!
The third group is people who find high-end ryokan intimidating and want to stay somewhere affordable with good value.
Isawa Onsen has many prestigious long-established ryokan, but Spa Land Hotel Naito has, in a good way, a “freedom of being left alone,” and rates are very reasonable at from ¥4,500.
Access and parking: the free shuttle bus is handy!
Spa Land Hotel Naito is located about 7 minutes by car from JR Isawa-Onsen Station and about 10 minutes from Ichinomiya-Misaka IC on the Chuo Expressway, a spa resort operated by the Naito Group offering a space where everyone from business travelers to sightseers can relax.
Getting there by car (vast free parking lot available)
By car, it’s about 10 minutes from Ichinomiya-Misaka IC on the Chuo Expressway or about 15 minutes from Kofu-Showa IC, a location that’s very easy to reach even from outside the prefecture.
It’s along National Route 20, so the big signboard is a landmark and you’ll hardly get lost.
Notably, the parking lot is huge. It has a large lot that holds about 400 cars, completely free for overnight guests and day-trip users alike.
Getting there by train (free bus from Isawa-Onsen Station)

There is also a regular free shuttle bus running between the hotel and JR Isawa-Onsen Station, so it’s easy to get here by train too.
In-hotel check-in and the welcome drink

After sightseeing, I arrived at “Spa Land Hotel Naito” right around 15:00 when check-in starts!
What surprised me first was that parking is free.
For travelers who get around by car, little perks like this make you think “I’m glad I picked this place.”
I’d heard the rumor “best value,” but my expectations rose from the moment I walked in…!
Now for the dinner and breakfast buffets I was looking forward to. I’ll report them frankly!

Right inside the entrance on the left, the first thing that caught my eye was a chic, calm shoe locker area.
This facility accepts day-trip bathers as well as overnight guests, so there’s a lively feel right from the entrance.
Lockers with IC chips have been increasing lately, but here it’s an old-fashioned physical key. The weight of the key in my fingers made me really feel “ah, I’ve come to a health land,” and that has its own charm.
Smooth check-in flow and points to note

Finally, check-in!
The staff gave a full explanation of using the hotel, and it was very smooth because the explanation was easy to follow.
Taking in “I see, the bath is over there and the dining area is that way…” in my head, I got my room key with an IC chip in no time!
Guests-only! Welcome drink service of your choice

Going left from the front desk toward the back, I found a stylish “Organic Cafe Nature.”
Actually, at check-in I had been given a free ticket you can use here.
Services like this are really welcome!
Before even putting down my bags, I decided to enjoy a slightly luxurious café time.
In the calm atmosphere I took a break, excited for the hotel stay about to begin. The fatigue of travel seemed to be gently soothed by this one cup…
Being able to get in with a free ticket, “best value” is the perfect phrase for this place.

This café offers one free coffee or tea exclusively for hotel guests.
I chose iced coffee without hesitation.
I took a sip… oh, it’s a bit bold with just the right bitterness, and it’s “so good!”
Moreover, this free ticket is valid until checkout the next day (10:00).
“Drink it now, or save it for tomorrow morning…”
What a luxurious problem to have.
My throat’s refreshed, so shall I head to today’s room!
Room review: relaxing in a calm Japanese-Western room

Taking a break with coffee, I study the hotel map carefully.
Looking again, this hotel is incredibly well equipped!
- 1st floor: shop, public bath, stone spa, and dining areas.
- 2nd floor: another dining area and a relaxation floor.
- 3rd floor and above: guest room floors.
I see, this isn’t just a place to sleep. You could spend the whole day here.
Take a bath, eat, get a massage when you’re tired… just imagining it makes me want to say “It’s paradise!”
Now that I’ve got the map down, first I’ll move to the 4th-floor guest room floor to drop off my luggage!

Up the elevator to our 4th floor.
When the doors open, it’s a different world from the lively 1st and 2nd floors, a calm space with a beige base!
It’s so modern I almost doubt “Is this really a health land?”, and my excitement shot up at once.
The gap from the day-trip area is huge, and I was frankly moved by this special feel!

The room corridor is spacious too, with no sense of narrowness. You can walk smoothly even with luggage, and this room to spare adds to the comfort!

Today’s room is Room 1443 on the 4th floor. Not the 14th floor, the 4th!
The room key is an unusual wristband type with an IC chip. Just hold it up to the door handle and it unlocks with a “beep,” which is super easy! You won’t lose it, so wearing it all the time except when sleeping is the right call.
Now, let’s step into the twin room!
Checking the room size and how the bed feels

Today’s room, Room 1443, is a twin room of about 20 square meters.
It has more room than a typical business hotel, so there’s no sense of being cramped! Maybe the layout is cleverly done, but it feels more spacious than the numbers suggest and looks comfortable to spend time in.
It’s a relief that I’ll be comfortable even with my luggage spread out!

In front of the beds is a desk space with a TV of about 20 inches.
It’s a bit disappointing that it can’t connect to online video like Netflix, which is popular lately…

The beds are two single-size beds, each 120 cm wide.
Only the middle is an aisle, with walls on both sides.
The layout somehow gives a cozy “hideaway feel” and is strangely calming. Even if you’re a restless sleeper, the walls would guard you (lol).

Near the door is a simple closet. There are four hangers. For two people that’s two each, so it’s the bare minimum.
Beneath it, a bath towel and in-house loungewear set are properly provided!
What’s also nice is that Febreze is provided.
Now, I’ll change into the loungewear and enter relaxation mode.
How clean are the washbasin, toilet, and other plumbing areas?

The washroom and bath/toilet are the familiar unit bath. Still, compared with a typical business hotel it feels a little roomier.
There’s no cramped feeling of elbows hitting the wall, so getting ready should go smoothly. Of course there’s a big public bath on the 1st floor, so I’d mainly use this for the restroom, but bigger is always better!

On top of the toilet tank, the amenities are all set out.
Lately many places have you pick them up yourself next to the front desk, but having them set in the room beforehand is definitely easier.
[Hot spring] The “public bath” with 10 kinds of baths

At last, to the 1st-floor public bath!
Guests take the bath towel set from their room.
There’s no need to worry, thinking “I’d rather not reuse one towel…”
If you ask the front desk, they’ll actually lend you a new towel set.
Effectively unlimited towels is a godly service for bath lovers!
Now, I’m off with a fluffy towel for the best bath-hopping!
A Yamanashi specialty! The giant “wine bath” is stunning

Among the baths, the one I was looking forward to most was the “wine-colored skin-beautifying bath.” As expected of Yamanashi!
As you soak in the tub, the rich aroma of wine spreads softly, and that alone gives an elegant feeling.
Perhaps thanks to the polyphenols, my skin felt moisturized after the bath—truly blissful moments…
[Sauna] Four blazing saunas
After the bath, it’s the long-awaited sauna time.
There’s a rich variety of saunas here, and they seem to be quite well regarded even among sauna fans.
First the main high-temperature sauna. A strong style over 100 degrees—seriously hot!
What surprised me more was the rock-bed spa area, which is actually inside the men’s bath, where you lie naked.
[Cold plunge & open-air cooling off] 16℃ strong cold water and plentiful relaxation chairs
The cold plunge here uses all “nano water,” so the feel on the skin is astonishingly smooth!
Rather than the shock of “It’s cold!”, it’s the sensation of being gently wrapped as if wearing a feathered robe, so comfortable I feel I could stay in forever…
Crisply chilled yet somehow soft.
It’s worth coming here. I cooled down thoroughly and refreshed to the max!
[Meals] Rich in-house dining! Dinner and breakfast reports

After a leisurely soak in the hot spring, it’s Yumeya at Kutsurogi-tei.
It’s truly the hotel’s kitchen, where you can enjoy a wide range from Yamanashi flavors to standard izakaya menu items.
[Dinner] From izakaya to set meals! Trying sauna food!

With a rich izakaya menu, it’s an environment drinkers can’t resist.
I somehow wanted katsu, so I ordered a “large tonkatsu bowl” and the rice was extra-large size!!
There are few side dishes, so watch out—you’ll have leftover white rice!
[Breakfast] All-you-can-eat hoto too! A very satisfying buffet

The breakfast venue is “Hana Jyuraku” on the 2nd floor of Taiko no Yu. Breakfast is a Japanese-style buffet.
There are no set meal times, but around 8:00 on a Sunday morning it gets very crowded.

There aren’t many seats, and when it’s crowded even the counter seats fill up.

It’s a mainly Japanese-style buffet, but the salad selection is rich.
A salad and cold pasta corner.

Corn and seaweed salads and more are plentiful. Unfortunately the wakame was out of stock.

You can even eat piping-hot shumai from the morning!!

Hoto, Yamanashi’s specialty. Not too strong, not too weak, and delicious.

Besides breakfast staples like sausages and scrambled eggs, the fried food corner with croquettes and french fries is also rich.

The simmered pumpkin has a refreshing taste and is a recommended item.

You can have curry rice too~.

A side dish corner to go with rice.
Lightly pickled cucumber, sesame kelp, yuzu, sesame, Koshu small plums, nori, nameko, tororo, and more. It can also be a topping for the flying-fish dashi.

The bread corner has several items like croissants and sandwich bread.

Drinks include Yamanashi-specific Shine Muscat vinegar, almond milk, and milk.

Besides these, there are all-you-can-drink soft drink corners, tea, and more.

I took too many things! (regret)

For extra, a real hoto and curry rice!
I’ll skip lunch today.

Frank impressions of staying at Spa Land Hotel Naito

Truly a “hot spring theme park”! It was an overwhelming spa experience!
First, I was truly surprised by how many kinds of baths there are.
Relaxing in the open-air bath with a TV and its sense of openness, soaking in Yamanashi’s signature wine bath, and so on—it’s so varied that you couldn’t possibly try it all in one visit.
Multiple saunas are also provided, an environment sauna fans can’t resist.
The hotel is along a national highway (bypass) with many restaurants nearby, but frankly there was no need to go outside at all.
The dining areas on the 2nd floor are just so plentiful!
From high-value izakaya to restaurants where you can eat well, they have it all. I’m especially glad that “sa-meshi” (sauna food) items perfect for after the sauna are well stocked.
You get the luxury of choosing a place to match your mood!
